I cannot believe that this is the last week. We've all had a FULL summer from what I can tell.

This has been a cool book to sort of bring a lot of what plagues us to the forefront and basically telling us to acknowledge it, deal with it, and let it go. Own your craft and continue to grow. Beat down that nagging inner voice that makes you doubt what you know, and champion the one that can't wait to pick up your camera and start creating.

So this week, put yourself out there. Feel what your clients feel and remember that so your empathy can show through as you direct your next portrait session.

Sometimes you have to just step out of your comfort zone. This kid was doing wheelies on his bike during a senior photography session. I was waiting during a wardrobe change and had been watching him and his friends. I struck up a conversation and then asked if I could take his photo. He said only if my bike can be in it too! So I got his number and sent his portrait to him. He said thanks, he'd never had anyone actually send it. I love the final look.

Kathy did a little portrait work with her family at the beach and she's asked for some feed back.

The Grands: I love this one. I do wish Penny and Robbie were look at you instead of whoever they were looking at, but the composition is great.

New Family: This is so sweet. Just a few notes. Watch hair ties on the wrists and have mom connecting with either Raj or the baby. They all look so lovely. Great exposure and I know that is no small feat.

The COOLEST family:

LOVE LOVE LOVE this! A couple of notes:

~Try to soften the light on Olivia and Raj's foreheads or to brighten up the rest of the family to match their foreheads.

~Watch cutting off toes/shoes.

~I would also crop in just a little. You don't want to lose the beach but the most important element is the family.

For this one, I would go vertical and exaggerate the connection between Penny and Lyla.

This is so nice. The connection of everyone feels really natural. Nothing like years of training them to pose for you : ) I hope they've saved all of the years of pics you've done. they would be so fun to see next to each other.

Very nice work!!! I love what you've done.

I've loved this summer with you. I am getting excited for the Fall and all that I see happening with it. I'll be in touch in a few weeks to share all of it with you. Similar to last year with a few changes. Thank you so much for supporting this journey. I'd love to hear what you'd like to see in the Fall course work. More field trips, practice sessions, did you love last year's structure or want something else?

Tell me your thoughts.

I really want to know.
